A New Journey: One Fruit at a Time
We’re trying something new — and we want you to come along.
Hey, friend.
We’re going to be honest with you: we’re still figuring this out.
When we started this Blog, we were exploring the Fruits of the Spirit through different books of the Bible — Matthew, Mark, Acts, Romans, 1 and 2 Corinthians. Each day brought a new book, a new perspective. It was our journey, and we hoped it would be yours too.
But here’s the thing: we kept jumping around.
One day we’d be in Romans thinking about faith, the next in Acts talking about joy, then back to Corinthians for love. It was rich — but also a little scattered. We felt like we were giving you a bite of everything without really savoring any of it.
So we’re trying something different.
One Fruit. One Day. Nine Days. Repeat.
Starting today, we’re going to focus on one fruit at a time.
Here’s the rhythm:
- Day 1: Love (Agape) — The foundation of everything
- Day 2: Joy (Chara) — Not happiness, but something deeper
- Day 3: Peace (Eirene) — Wholeness in a fractured world
- Day 4: Patience (Makrothymia) — Long-suffering love
- Day 5: Kindness (Chrestotes) — Love in action
- Day 6: Goodness (Agathosyne) — Moral excellence
- Day 7: Faithfulness (Pistis) — Steadfast reliability
- Day 8: Gentleness (Prautes) — Power under control
- Day 9: Self-Control (Egkrateia) — Spirit-led discipline
Then we cycle back to Love. And again. And again.
Why? Because these fruits aren’t a checklist — they’re a lifestyle. We want to camp on each one. Let it sink in. Let it transform us.
Today’s Fruit: Love
And what better place to start than Love?
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. — Galatians 5:22-23
Notice how Paul puts love first. Not because it’s the most important (they’re all important), but because everything else flows from it. Without love, joy is just happiness. Peace is just the absence of conflict. Patience is just gritting your teeth.
Real love — agape — is sacrificial. It’s choosing another’s good regardless of cost. It’s what God showed us on the cross.
Here’s What We Promise
- We’ll be consistent. Every day, you’ll know what you’re getting.
- We’ll go deep. One fruit per day means we can actually explore it.
- We’ll make it worth your time. Fresh content, real reflection, nothing filler.
- We’ll apologize when we change things. (Like now. Sorry about that.)
Come Back Tomorrow
Tomorrow, we’ll explore Joy — and what it really means to have joy even when life falls apart.
See you tomorrow.
— Your friends at Forgiven Home
P.S. If you’re new here: start from Day 1. We’re all about growing together.
