Faithfulness: The Steady Hand We Cannot Hold

My heart is quick to wander, Lord, To chase the shiny things of earth, The world calls loud with promises, And I forget my soul’s true worth.

The noise of life, the pull of sin, The weariness that drags me down, I barely think of faithfulness, While wearing sadness like a crown.

My spirit fails, my will is weak, I stumble on the narrow way, But still You hold me, still You stay, Your love renews with every day.

For You are faithful, God of grace, When I am not, You still remain, Your mercies new each morning rise, Like gentle drops of healing rain.

I do not deserve this endless love, This patience that You show to me, Yet here You are, right by my side, The very heart of constancy.

You keep Your word, You never leave, Though I have turned and walked away, Your faithfulness is who You are, It cannot change, it will not sway.

Thank You, Father, for Your grace, For loving me when I forget, For being steady when I’m not, For paying every sin’s great debt.

I praise You for Your unchanging heart, For promises that always stand, For faithfulness I cannot earn, But freely receive from Your hand.

A Prayer:

Lord, forgive my wandering heart. Thank You for being faithful when I am not. Help me to rest in Your constancy, And let Your faithfulness flow through me. May I become more like You each day, Steady, true, and full of grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
