The Peace That Passes Understanding
The Lord Himself is peace — Judges 6:24
When the world demands my hurry, When the waves crash high and wide, When the storms of life surround me And I cannot see the tide—
There is One who walks beside me, Who the raging waters knows, Who whispers through the chaos, “Child, be still, here is your rest.”
Not the peace the world offers, Not the calm that comes and goes, But a peace beyond all understanding, Deepest river, gentle rose.
It does not ask for circumstances To align just right and fair, It dwells within the faithful heart That trusts the One who cares.
So I lay my hurried footsteps On the path the Savior treads, I release the weight I’m carrying, I rest my weary head.
For the Prince of Peace has called me, And His voice I know so well— “Come to Me, all who are weary, In Me, you shall dwell.”
Philippians 4:7 — “And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
